SKATES
Skate Island is a purpose built entertainment park landing at Newcastle Racecourse. At its heart is a huge roller disco rink, surrounded by an outdoor food and drink area designed for hanging out, refuelling, and soaking up the atmosphere whether you’re skating or not.
Skate Island is more than just a rink. On site you’ll find:
A fully covered 36m x 12m roller rink built from containers and topped with a megadome roof
A professional DJ playing music throughout every session
Immersive lighting, décor and production to create a proper roller disco experience
An outdoor food and drink area with seating
Street food traders and bar offerings
Games and social spaces to relax between skates
You can skate, chill, eat, drink, or do all of the above.
The rink is a fully enclosed roller disco space with container built walls and a megadome roof to keep the party going whatever the weather.
Inside you’ll find a DJ booth with music playing across the entire rink, alongside lighting, décor and production designed to make the experience feel energetic, immersive and fun from the moment you roll in.
The rink has been specifically designed to allow up to 150 skaters at one time.
This keeps things lively while still giving everyone enough space to skate safely and comfortably.
You can come on and off the rink as much as you like during your session.
Most people skate for around 20 to 30 minutes at a time, then take a break to grab a drink or some food before heading back on. There’s no pressure to skate continuously.
